Sarah Scahill, M.H.S., B.N., RN, CDMP, LNC

Sarah Scahill is a dynamic and highly motivated professional, seamlessly blending her expertise in healthcare with a robust business acumen and a passion for public service. She holds a Master of Health Studies with a dual focus on Health Research and Leadership, as well as a Bachelor of Nursing from Athabasca University. Her master’s research centered on burnout, compassion fatigue, and moral distress—key challenges she now specializes in addressing for individuals and organizations alike. With over fifteen years of frontline nursing experience and a decade in public-sector human resources, Sarah brings deep insight into the complexities of organizational wellbeing and the challenges of managing human capital.

Sarah’s dedication to continuous growth is reflected in her certifications and ongoing education. She is certified in Compassionate Leadership and is pursuing her Comprehensive Holistic Nurse Consultant (CCHNC) Certificate Program through the Canadian Institute of Integrative Nursing Development & Education, which she will complete by October 2025. Her expertise also spans labour law, human rights legislation, accommodation law, privacy and health information management, and change leadership. As a Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) and Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC), Sarah is uniquely equipped to consult on complex medical disability insurance files, offer expert witness statements on nursing standards of care, and support organizations in navigating legal and regulatory challenges.

These services aim to promote mental health recovery, facilitate smooth return-to-work transitions, and cultivate sustainable well-being for individuals and teams.

Sarah’s career is rooted in public service, where she has demonstrated a commitment to evidence-informed decision-making, compassionate leadership, and fostering equitable and inclusive practices. Holding licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) and a Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) through the Canadian Society of Professionals in Disability Management (CSPDM), Sarah upholds the highest professional standards in all aspects of her work. She also serves as a Councillor with the CRNA and is the former Chair of the Medicine Hat Police Commission.
